No 6 of 23 Things.

For me it says it all when you have pictures of 13 year old girls adorning the pictures for ImageChef, but I have seen “Surf’s Up” generated gifs in a few places recently. Now I know who to blame.
Now I’ve never had anything against time wasters , nothing wrong with a bit of harmless fun. Truly though – these silly things don’t really appeal. On the other hand avatar generators are mucho funno! At least for a while and I have spent enough of it making avatars for myself and my husband Thatch.

But as someone on television used to say “…but I digress,” and so I do. I will try to explain the picture. Many moons ago I had a band and that’s what we called ourselves – three of us had husbands who played together in a band (hence Band Widows), one was a ring in but she could play keyboards. I think she was the only one of us who could actually play and sing at the same time – a feat I never managed to master properly and I was lead vocal and bass. You have to laugh.
So that was Play Week taken care of. Another elephant thanks.
Update on 23 Things.

Yicks, the months have flown! I think it is time to write up some of them. Now let’s see.
I’m up to thing 5 whish is about RSS feeds. My favourite RSS feed belongs to Smashing Magazine. It’s a weblog dedicated to web-developers and designers and it it also aggregates related stuff from all over the web.
This (web)log sends me off in all sorts of directions supplying inspiration and providing me with numerous ways to spend my time. One of their recent posts was 60 Beautiful Music Videos. Now I find their ideas of aesthetics questionable their are some classics amongst them.
There is the slick and very expensive; Lenny Kravitz: Are You Gonna Go My Way. Then there is the 80’s classic that was cleverly animated; A-ha: Take On Me, followed by the very ordinary song but cute stop motion animation for Blur: Coffee & TV. Bjork: Wanderlust comes close to being beautiful, but only if you keep the volume off. Funstorung: Sleeping Beauty does some quite stunning things with typography. Oh oh oh, OK Go: Here It Goes Again is a wonderfully silly video involving treadmills and four silly men with great timing. Very clever.
Another good one is Softlightes: Heart Made Of Sound, creative use of typography here too and Fujiya & Miyagi: Ankle Injuries – I wish I had a brain that thought like these people. That’s quite enough of that. If you want beautiful tru Nick Cave and Kyle Minogue singing Where The Wild Roses Grow. The video is gorgeous, the song the same.
I think this’ll do on RSS. That makes 5 elephant stamps – that much closer to my gold star.
